Our Impact

Our team works hard to bring the philosophy of Reframe to as many newsrooms and journalists as we can. We are grateful for the support we’ve been shown along the way.
People Who Trust Us
How we create the news is as important as the news we make, and Reframe knows this, approaching change and challenge with a smart, holistic approach. This is the future of news.
Reframe sets a new standard for reporting conduct that should be taught in every journalism program, and proves that resources exist to help all publications make transformative changes for more inclusive and representative reporting practices and newsroom culture. No more excuses!

Behind The Scenes
InvestigateWest successfully tests Reframe resources in their newsroom
In 2021, Reframe set out to test its tools and resources with a working newsroom in a six-month-long pilot. Reframe found an ideal partner in Seattle-based investigative outlet, InvestigateWest, and wrote about the partnership in a case study.
Our Research
How local news in Philadelphia covered the George Floyd protests
In the days after George Floyd was murdered by Derek Chauvin on May 25, 2020, cities across the U.S. broke out in protests and local and national media raced to cover the events as they unfolded. This study seeks to illustrate how the breaking news reporting of Philadelphia’s media ecosystem presented these protests and related events to the city’s residents in their immediate aftermath.
Community conversations on protest coverage in Philadelphia
Since the release of our study of coverage of the George Floyd protests, Reframe has convened conversations with representatives from local news organizations, surveyed Philadelphians for their feedback, and spoke with community members to give some voice to what was not captured in our initial report: how audiences felt, the history of coverage of similar events, and the difficult realities of producing breaking news.
